Cafe & F&B Interior Design A cafe built to move people
Tea Post, Al Barsha, a high-turnover cafe designed to handle the rush at the counter and still feel like a place worth lingering in.

01, OUR APPROACH
Two timelines, one floor plan
A cafe has to win on two completely different timelines at once. It needs to move people through quickly at peak hours, queue at the counter, order, collect, find a seat and it needs to make the people who stay want to linger. Tea Post’s space in Millenium Al Barsha sits in a busy retail and residential pocket of Al Barsha 1, with steady walk-in footfall throughout the day, so both timelines mattered from day one.
The brief was to design a cafe that felt warm and inviting enough to be a regular hangout spot, while keeping the operational backbone, counter flow, kitchen access, seating turnover tight enough to handle a constant stream of customers without ever feeling cramped or chaotic.
02, OUR APPROACH
The floor plan was the design problem
We treated the floor plan as the real design problem before any material or colour decision was made. The counter was positioned to give arriving customers an immediate, unobstructed sightline to the menu and till, with a dedicated queue lane that doesn’t cut across seated guests. Seating was split into two zones by design intent: faster-turnover bar-height seating near the windows for solo visitors and quick stops, and lower lounge-style seating further inside for groups and longer stays.

Materials and lighting were chosen to make the space feel considered rather than purely functional, warm wood tones, textured wall finishes, and a mix of pendant and accent lighting that shifts the mood from bright and energetic near the counter to softer and more relaxed in the seating zones.
Seating
Two zones by design intent: bar-height window seating for solo visitors and quick stops, and lounge-style seating further inside for groups and longer stays.
Branding
Tea Post’s colour identity woven into the fit-out itself, upholstery, accent walls, and menu display units so the brand feels built in rather than added as signage.
Back-of-House
Clear paths between counter, prep area, and storage, planned with the same discipline as the front, so staff move efficiently during peak hours without disrupting guests.
A café that handles the rush and keeps people there
The finished café gives Tea Post a space that handles high footfall without feeling rushed, and gives regulars a reason to stay. The counter-to-seating flow keeps queues moving even during busy periods, the two seating zones let the space serve both quick visits and longer hangouts well, and the warm, branded interior makes the café feel like a destination rather than a stopover.

Our JVC villa renovation exceeded every expectation, stunning work by Paras Interiors We had been putting off renovating our villa in Jumeirah Village Circle for over two years simply because we didn’t know who to trust. View the full review.
I’ll be honest, I was skeptical going in. We had a bad experience with a previous contractor who overpromised and underdelivered on our old apartment in Al Barsha, so when we moved into our villa in Dubai Hills Estate, view the full review.
We purchased our apartment on Palm Jumeirah specifically because of the views and the lifestyle it promised. But the interiors when we took possession were completely bare, a blank canvas that felt overwhelming rather than exciting. View the full review.
